Midgets win opener

Sunday night, Oct.27, the Viking Gas King Midgets won their home opener against Stettler.

    Power plays allowed Curtis Miller and Cole Borth to score in the first period. Taylor Ritchie added a third and Stettler answered with a single goal before the period ended.

    The pace was fast in the second period but, thanks to good goal-tending and defensive plays, the period was scoreless.

    In the third period Taylor Ritchie scored a single on the Stettler goalie and then achieved a hat trick with a goal on the empty net.
