$300,000 from Beaver Municipal Solutions to be shared

The amount of money Viking may receive is still undecided but if the Minister of Municipal Affairs approves a request from Beaver Municipal Solutions, a total of $300,000 will be released and dispersed to member municipalities of which Viking is one.

    At its regular meeting of Feb. 19 the Board of the Beaver Regional Waste Management Services Commission approved the release of the following statement:

    “The Board of the Beaver Regional Waste Management Services Commission, operating as Beaver Municipal Solutions, promotes tangible benefits for Beaver County residents from its operations including cost-effective waste collection and disposal services, long-term employment for approximately 60 Commission employees and the distribution of Commission surpluses to the member municipalities, where not needed for the Commission’s operations and long-term obligations, including environmental closure funding.
