Retiring after 50 years plus volunteering at Carena

After more than 50 years of volunteering at the Viking Carena, Carl Baumgartner is retiring in order, he says, to make room for members of the younger generation to take over.

    Over the many years Carl has become a permanent fixture at the Carena, volunteering endless hours in a variety of positions.

    In addition to time and score keeping, Carl often stepped into the booth to announce the games.

    “I really want to give thanks to the many volunteers I had the opportunity to work with in Ringette as well as senior and minor hockey for the past 50 plus years,” he said.
