New Years Baby Story:
Vikings New Year’s baby is now happy and healthy despite his rough start into the world.
Baby Reuben Harrisen Congdon was born on Jan. 2 at 1:05 p.m. at the Viking Health Center.
After what mom Jennifer Congdon described as a difficult labour, baby Reuben was born with a low oxygen level and was very lethargic.
He had to be taken by ambulance to Red Deer hospital shortly after being born but due to the circumstances, Jennifer could not be discharged from the hospital that day. Reuben’s father Kevin, accompanied the ambulance to Red Deer to be with the baby until mom could be released from hospital the next day.
