Collision claims child’s life
On Jan.3, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. just outside of Wainwright, a head-on collision between a one-ton truck and a semi-tractor trailer unit occurred.
The northbound one ton truck with two occupants collided head-on with a southbound semi-tractor.

Holden Christmas lights winners
Each year, the Holden Economic Development Committee (EDC) sponsors a contest to brighten up the Christmas season. Best decorated homes and non-residential sites are awarded $50 for a first place rating, and $25 for second place.

McKee turned himself in
On Dec. 21 escaped prisoner Christopher MCKEE of Wainwright turned himself in to the Brooks Court House.
He had been at large after escaping from officers at the Wainwright hospital on Dec. 11.
