17 cars fall off Fabyan bridge
There were no injuries when a train derailment on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 21, sent 17 cars of a 31-car train off the Fabyan trestle bridge into the valley below.

Outdoor School immerses students in out-of-doors
Viking recently played host to a group of students from an unique school in Saskatoon.
The Grade 11 students came from a type of system called the Outdoor School (ODS).

Primary Care Network comes to Viking
The Primary Care Network (PCN) – Kal-yna Country officially opened its doors on Monday, Jan 9 at the Viking Medical Clinic.
The Viking network will be affiliated with the PCN in Vegreville, providing services for patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes and also focusing on obstetrical care, before and after delivery.

Equestrian rider travelling to USA for horse shows
One of Viking’s local equestrian riders will be leaving Alberta to go the U.S.A at the end of the month. Willow Wemp will be travelling to Purcell, Oklahoma for two to three months to participate in horse shows there.
Wemp is going to travel and live with her aunt Debbie Hill while in Oklahoma; they will be leaving Viking sometime around Jan 26.
