Harsh winds and falling snow were replaced by warmer temperatures Friday, Dec. 14 and, as a result, the streets were lined with parade viewers waiting for the floats to move down main street.
Led by the RCMP with lights flashing and siren wailing, the first float in the lineup this year was the familiar Viking ship.
The ship was covered in hundreds of lights and, at intervals, fire shot from the dragon’s mouth, much to the delight of the crowd. The town float was named the top parade entry.
