Former hospital employee Anne Kerychuk, 94, shares memories
Anne Kerychuk, 94, a long time employee at the old Viking Hospital and still an avid reader of the Viking Weekly Review, recently sat down and talked about her life and the many happy years she recalls from living in the Viking area.
Today Anne lives in Vegreville at the Home-steader Lodge surrounded by friends and is pleased to share memories of a life which was not always easy.
Anne was born in West Ukraine near the town of Vuhledar in 1917 and grew up during the post WWI age.
She was one of eight children of which seven were her biological siblings and one child her cousin. Her (Anne’s) father was injured in the war and her uncle was killed, leaving the family to raise the cousin as one of their own.
