RCMP Sergeant voices concern
The lack of officers needed to fill the positions being vacated at the Viking RCMP detachment has RCMP Sergeant Jim Warren worried and town council has vowed to take whatever action it can to keep a detachment in Viking.
Sgt. Warren attended council Tuesday, May 22 and minced no words explaining how concerned he is and how he is doing everything possible to keep the local detachment staffed with four full time officers who live in the community.
Mayor Marlene Grandenetti suggested council write a letter to the RCMP District Commander Supt. R.M. (Randy) McGinnis, voicing the community’s concern.
Sgt. Warren agreed a letter of concern from the town could help.
