Doctor’s Last day at work
Monday, the last day of April was the last day on the job for Viking’s Dr. Eamon Cunningham.
Forty years after first starting his work in this area as a family doctor, Dr. Cunningham and his wife Eileen have decided to retire and spend some time travelling.
And yesterday morning patients and friends were treated to cake and coffee and the opportunity to thank the Cunninghams for all they have given to the community.
Born the eldest of eight children in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland, Dr. Cunningham met and married Eileen Morris of Gardenfield, Tuam, County Galway and the pair immigrated to Canda in 1971.
The couple moved to town from Edmonton on July 12, 1972 and have made Viking their home ever since.
Their immediate plans include a three-week tour of Europe.
