Weekly Review student reporter wins bursary

Weekly Review student reporter Erika Josephison was recently chosen as one of the recipients of the Fred Row Journalism bursary.

The bursary is awarded to an individual who is pursuing a career in the print media.

Erika is the second Weekly Review student reporter to win a journalism bursary, as Cheryl Winczura was also honoured by the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association the previous decade.

Erika  will graduate high school in June and has been conditionally accepted into new Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) degree program  at McGewan University in Edmonton.
                 
These bursaries are awarded annually by a committee of editors from the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association (AWNA) and presented jointly by Alberta Newsprint Company (ANC) and the Association at AWNA’s annual convention in May. The annual awards are intended to help offset tuition and material costs for that year.
