Vikings in the Streets changes
Instead of focusing on raising funds, this year’s Vikings in the Streets festival will be geared towards bringing the community together to celebrate its Scandinavian heritage and, according to organizers, “just having fun.”
This is the second year for the festival is set for June 22, 23 and 24.
Last week an organizational meeting headed by the recently appointed chairperson Ellen Lefsrud, laid out a plan to give the festival a more down home flavour.
“I see my job as coordinating the festival and working to make sure everything runs smoothly. I think we should work to include as many activities into the festival as we can but, at the same time, be prepared to carry on no matter how many events there are.
