Viking Bull Bash
Viking is planning its first Bull Bash and if it meets with success, organizers hope to make it an annual event.
Sponsors as well as community attendance are required for the successful execution of the event and it is hoped both will show strong support.
WORD ON THE STREET – March 5 to 11
On March 5, police attended a two vehicle collision at the intersection of 55 Ave. and Highway 36.
A semi tractor unit was northbound on Highway 36 when an eastbound pickup pulled out onto the highway in it’s path. The semi was unable to avoid the pickup, striking it on the front passenger side.
Town Council Briefs
Viking’s allotment under the 2012 funding for capital and operating Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) has not changed much from last year.
Viking will receive $260,776 in capital funding, up from $259,655 last year and $107,228 operating, down from $114,871. in 2011.

Bantam girls off to Provincials
The Skully’s Oilfield Bantam Girls have won the their way to the Provincials.
The team, which has enjoyed a successful season, will travel to Stettler from March 15-18 to take part in the Provincial tournament.
