Holden Christmas lights winners

    Each year, the Holden Economic Development Committee (EDC) sponsors a contest to brighten up the Christmas season. Best decorated homes and non-residential sites are awarded $50 for a first place rating, and $25 for second place.

    A total of $400 was handed out in prizes to the following 2011 winners:

    Residential-Second Place

    • Daryl and Cynthia Quattrin

    Non-Residential-First Place
    • Holy Spirit Ukrain-ian Catholic Church
    • Holden United Church
    Non-Residential- Second Place
    • Country Kitchen
    • Kristine Winter

    Special Award
    • John and Sylvia Piwowar
 
    The special award, presented to John and Sylvia Piwowar, recognized the spectacular display at their residence near the southwest corner of Holden on Highways 855 and 14.
