Film crew visits Viking School
Viking School played host to an entire film crew on Friday Dec 3, 2011.
They were there as part of a project by Alberta Education that focuses on inclusion in Alberta schools.
At Viking school, the filming was focused on one student in particular, William Markkula.
William, who has Achondroplisia, the most common form of dwarfism, along with his teachers, bus driver, and mom were interviewed about everything that is done to make sure he feels included at school.
According to Diane Hutchinson, Director of Communication for Beaver School Division, inclusion means making sure all students feel welcome and included in their schools.
