Vikings coming to streets for festival

If your taxes aren’t up to date, it may be wise to find the tax collector before he finds you this June when he visits.

Vikings really will be in the streets during the second annual Vikings in the Streets Festival, to be held on June 22, 23, and 24 when Odin’s Ravens, the Viking age reenactment group come to town, and they are bringing the tax collector with them.

It is likely that there will be eight to 12 reenactors attending the festival, with the possibility of visitors from other groups in Saskatoon, Calgary, Okotoks, or even further away.

They plan to set up a tent display of three or four tents in the streets. If the weather permits, they hope to also set up a raised firebox with which to prepare meals for the group.
