Mayor responds to letter

Viking Mayor Marlene Grandinetti

Mayor Marlene Grandinetti responded to a recent letter written to council by Viking resident Bill Mattinson in which he questioned the validity and cost of the House Calls project.

The House Calls Project is being sponsored by Alberta Ecotrust, ROARS and the Viking Sustainability Project and features homeowners being offered some energy saving tips.

(Mattinson’s letter appeared in the Feb. 7 edition of the Weekly Review.)

In her response the Mayor called the House Calls Project important on , “many different levels.”

She said in addition to partnering young people with adults to make the home visits, a pattern is set to help young people understand the importance of sustainability.
