Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report stolen license plates

On July 11, police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 14. The driver could not produce valid registration so was issued violation tickets for both offences.

That afternoon, police received third party information regarding a domestic situation involving the retrieval of property from a residence. Police spoke with one of the involved parties and determined no offense had been committed at this time and therefore, no charges were laid.

That evening, police received a complaint of an erratic driver southbound on Secondary 857. A patrol was made but the vehicle in question was not located.

On July 12, a male attended the detachment to report while he was filling his car with gas in Viking, he noticed his licence plate had been stolen.

The male was driving a rental vehicle that originally had an Alabama license plate on it and now had an Alberta plate attached.
