Word on the Street: VIKING RCMP REPORT POSSIBLE CALF SHOOTING

During the early morning hours on Nov. 21, police received a complaint of a suspicious incident at a business southwest of Viking.

The complainant advised a white Chevy pickup with two males drove into the yard and when he confronted them, they said they were looking for a place to sleep. The truck then departed without further incident.

Later that morning, police received a complaint of a calf that had possibly been shot southwest of Viking. Police are following up on this matter

That afternoon, police were advised that there were two males going door to door in Viking stating that certain homeowners were eligible for a “water rebate” if they would fill out a form with them. Police located the males who admitted they were actually attempting to sell water filters, however they had not purchased a business licence from the town so they were told to cease their actions.

On Nov. 22, a citizen contacted police to advise she had been harassed in the workplace. The matter was being handled internally but she wanted it documented with police in the event it continued.
