On Nov. 10, police were advised by Strathcona RCMP that a cell phone that had been stolen from their area was possibly at a rural location northwest of Viking.

The owner of the phone had used the “Find iPhone” app and it was providing an address in Viking RCMP’s jurisdiction. A patrol was made to the involved address however the phone was not located.

The owner called police a short time later and advised she had found the phone in Sherwood Park and there was no need for further police involvement. She was unsure why the app had provided the address in Viking when her phone was actually in Sherwood Park.

That same morning, police received a report of a malfunctioning railway crossing arm at Bruce. CN employees attended and repaired the device. FOR MORE SEE THE NOV 15/16 WEEKLY REVIEW
