Train whistles to cease at crossing in Viking

After a long battle, Viking Town Council received notice from Transport Canada that rail companies would be given notice of 14 days to cease the blowing of train whistles at the Highway 36 crossing in Viking.

Councillors were very happy with the news, on Monday, Sept. 19 during their regular meeting.

“We owe Dana Ewashko a huge thank you. The time spent on this issue was greatly appreciated,” said councillor Rod Hunter.

“This is step one, we need to carry forward with the issue.”
