Word on the Street: VIKING RCMP REPORT NATION-WIDE WARRANT MISTAKEN ID

On Sept. 12, police received a complaint of a break and enter to a Quonset at a rural location south of Viking.

The complainant advised someone had cut the padlock on the building, entered it and stole a dirt bike that had been stored inside. Police have no suspects at this time.

On Sept. 13, police received information that a male subject with a Canada wide warrant was residing in Viking.

The subject was located and spoken to by police however it was determined the male was actually related to the person with the warrant and there were no outstanding issues with him.

On Sept. 15, police responded to a traffic complaint involving a semi-tractor unit that hit the ditch at the intersection of Highway 14 and Range Road 130. Police provided traffic control while the vehicle was towed back onto the highway.

That night, police received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at a rural location north of Viking.
