Safety Fair teaches Irma and area youth to stay safe for the summer

Irma farm safety day3 Irma school children and Holt Colony students had a terrific opportunity to review general and farm safety rules on Thursday, just as school is almost over.

A project from the Irma Ag. Society, the safety fair featured the Irma Fire and Rescue, farm animal safety from Sheldon and Shannon Archibald, Farm Safety from Lori Blake, Electrical Safety from Battle River Power Co-op, Gun Safety from Sheldon Frizzel, Call before you Dig information from Alberta One-Call, presented by Jackie Fenton, and Bee Keeping information from Ken and Tanya Ford from Lazy Bee Honey.

The presentations were made at the youth level, and covered a lot of common sense safety tips about some very common summer activities for rural Alberta youth.

The safety session was organized by Wendy Holt… for more see the June 28/16 Weekly Review.
