WORD ON THE STREET: Viking RCMP report SUICIDAL MALE

On April 11, with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service, a warrant was executed under the Mental Health Act and the subject was transported to a facility for treatment.

    On April 13, police received a complaint of a suicidal male. The male had contained himself in his residence with a rifle. 

    With the assistance of surrounding detachments the male was spoken to and did agree to put his weapon away and exit the residence. Without incident the male was detained and transported to the Viking Health Centre for assessment and then transported to a psychiatric facility for further assessment.

    That same day, police received a complaint of a vehicle passing a school bus while its flashing lights and stop sign were activated. Police are following up with the registered owner of the offending vehicle as a licence plate was obtained
