IRON CREEK COMMUNITY CENTRE FUTURE UNCERTAIN

More than 100 years ago, the pioneers of Iron Creek saw the need for a school to serve the district and set about making that need a reality.

Not one, but two schools served the Iron Creek Community, the first one built in 1908 by carpenters John Ash and Charlie Kabesh. This school would serve the area until a larger building replaced it in 1953.

According to the Viking history book, Bill Klein, Fritz Lundgren, Hogan Lund, Ivor Boraas, Henry Schuurman, and Frank Wolosinka put in a new basement and the Scona School from south of Holden was moved to its present site in 1953.

Wolosinka purchased the old school and moved it to his farm in 1958
