Viking man set to play with the greats this weekend

A Viking man that won the opportunity to curl with the greats will compete this upcoming weekend.

Vern Hafso, 68, was announced as one of four VIP contest winners of the Everest-Ferbey National Pro Am earlier in the month.

He, along with winners from Ottawa, Moncton, and Kelowna will join legendary pro curlers Randy Ferbey, Jennifer Jones, Brad Jacobs, and Al Hackner to curl in the Pro Am Event in Digby, Nova Scotia on Saturday.

Jones and Ferbey will draft their teammates at the team draft on Friday, April 1 at the Digby Arena, following the 6 p.m. draw.

The Everest-Ferbey National Pro Am will be played in the same venue starting the next day, Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m.

The contest was open to senior curlers from regions all across Canada.
