RENOVATION WORK UNDERWAY AT VIKING HOTEL

  Work has started on the renovation of the Viking Hotel.

    One of the owners Boris Javorski was in Viking last week to see how the work is progressing and he stopped by the Weekly Review to share the architect plans for the structure.

    Javorski said currently all the flooring on the bar area is being stripped down to the original hardwood. He said every attempt will be made to restore the building to its original state, “with all the modern improvements.”

    Wallboard is being torn away from the walls on the main floor  and Javorski said he plans to replace the wallboard with traditional wainscoting and period lighting to better capture the age of the building.
