Viking’s town office is now officially opened and is located on the main floor of the Carena Complex.

The grand opening was attended by about 30 people on Wednesday afternoon.

After a few months of renovating, offices and a vault have been completed making room for the administration staff of four.

Headed by Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Jackie Fenton, the staff consists of receptionist Jan Hafso, Financial Officer Jaclyn Friend, and Recreation Coordinator Amber Hennig.

The town is currently looking to hire a Recreation, Culture and Facility Coordinator Assistant on a full time permanent basis.

CAO Fenton said once that position is filled, Hennig will be able to split her time assisting the CAO and working with the new hire.

The municipal office left the downtown location at 4920-53 Avenue on Friday, Aug. 7 and was open for business on Monday, Aug. 9 at the Carena Complex.
