Private residence will replace Bruce Stampede Hall

Bruce-Hall-demolition
The Bruce Stampede Association Hall was built in 1930 and for many area residents it was much more than just a building.

At one time the hall was the centre of attraction serving as the venue for many social events such as monthly dances, wedding receptions, New Year’s Eve functions and as a meeting place… to name a few.

The National Film Board showed movies in the building in the 1940s. The film schedule could be found on an interior wall naming the movies which played from 1942-45.

The hall is no longer owned by the association and the new owner is demolishing it to make a place for, eventually, a residence.

The building has fallen to bad repair over the years and the walls, roof, and floor have rotted away.

The building was last used as a museum which closed several years ago.
