STATE OF AGRICULTURAL DISASTER DECLARED in Beaver County

Beaver County has declared a State of Agricultural Disaster in response to extreme drought conditions which have affected local producers.

“Beaver County Council supports our local producers and recognizes the challenges that the 2015 drought will place on them,” said Reeve Kevin Smook.

“Although we have received rain in the last 10 days, it has been “too little, too late” for many in our County. As well, the rains have been so sporadic that some areas did not receive much or any of the recent moisture.”

“Our producers are very concerned about the state of their crops, pasture, and hay production”, says Agricultural Fieldman Aimee Boese.
