Doctor wins  PC nomination by acclamation

Dr. Richard Starke of Vermilion has won by acclamation the nomination to stand as the candidate for Progressive Conservative (PC) party in the Vermilion-Lloydminster constituency in the next provincial election.

    News of Dr. Starke’s win came from Rod Krips, Chair, Vermilion-Lloydminster Progressive Association, Nominating Committee, late Thursday afternoon.

    Dr. Richard Starke was the only candidate to file nomination papers at the close of nominations 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12.

    Dr. Starke will represent the PC party when the next provincial  election is called. He is seeking the office  left vacant by retiring MLA and former cabinet minister Lloyd Snelgrove who announced in December that he was stepping down.
