Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On March 25, police received a report of a damaged vehicle that was abandoned at a rural location. 

    The registered owner was contacted and he advised a friend had been driving the vehicle and had been involved in a single vehicle collision the previous evening. 

    The registered owner and the driver attended the detachment to complete a collision report the following day. 

    The driver was charged with driving carelessly and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

    The registered owner was charged with failing to report an accident.   They will both be appearing in Vegreville Provincial Court in April.
