Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On Feb. 24, police received a call for assistance regarding an ongoing domestic situation.  After speaking with both parties involved, it was determined nothing criminal had occurred and there was no need for police involvement at this time.

    On Feb. 25, police received a complaint from a business representative regarding suspicious activity that had occurred overnight.  The complainant advised he noticed footprints in the snow approach a locked gate at the rear of the business and then depart in a different direction.  Police are continuing to follow up on this matter.

On Feb. 26, police received a complaint of an erratic driver eastbound on Highway 26. 

    A patrol was made and the vehicle in question was located and stopped. 

    The driver was sober but was being distracted by a dog that was loose in the vehicle.  She was issued a violation ticket for Section 167(1) under the Traffic Safety Act… For more see the March 4/14 issue of the Weekly Review
