Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On Dec. 16, police received a complaint of an erratic driver eastbound on Highway 14.

The caller advised he was following a vehicle that was driving in the wrong lane and it would not move over even though he had honked his horn several times to try get the other driver’s attention.

A patrol was made; however, the vehicle was not located within Viking Detachment boundaries.

The information was also passed on to Wainwright RCMP who were able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle.

The elderly driver seemed confused and was unsure where he was and what direction he was travelling. Police contacted a family member who attended and picked up the driver and his vehicle as police felt it was unsafe to let him continue driving in his mental state.
