Freezing rain, blowing snow creating havoc with Beaver County highways

This tractor trailer unit was among the vehicles which have fallen victim to the unstable weather conditions which continue to plague the area. Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for central Alberta and Saturday afternoon the Viking area was hit by rain which turned into ice and made driving conditions very dangerous. A warm front swept into the province late Saturday and by Sunday the temperatures rose above the zero mark. Unstable weather and milder temperatures are in the forecast. Motorists are reminded to drive with caution. This photo was taken Saturday just outside of Bruce.
