Citizens on patrol seeking startup funding, good turnout

A total of nine volunteers turned out for the second meeting of a local Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.) group which has been formed under the guidance of RCMP Constable Lindsay Williamson.

Const. Williamson said she was pleased with the turnout but was quick to add that the group is always looking for more members.

She said the larger the group grows, the fewer number of  hours each member will be asked to patrol each month.

The group is now fundraising as it needs funds to establish a society, through Service Alberta, as well as funds to purchase signage and any needed equipment.
