Local Harvest in Full Swing in Viking area of Beaver County

Harvest season is in full swing and, according to area farmers, they are rather pleased with this year’s crops.

They accredit these positive results to less disease and hail damage in the area as well as adequate rain and sunshine throughout the growing season.

While market prices are lower than the highs of last year, between 20 to 30 per cent depending on the crop, farmers remain confident that the quality and yield produced will still make a profitable harvest.
