Irma Mayor will not seek re-election

Irma Mayor Eric Nissen will not seek re-election this fall.

    The Mayor made his intentions known following last week’s regular council meeting.

    Mayor Nissen said one of the reasons for his decision is that after a recent position change in his career, he is unable to easily take time off on short notice.

    He said his communication with the Village office during the day is limited and it is unfair to the administration and the residents of Irma.
