Word on the Street: Report from the Viking RCMP Detachment

On March 25th, police received a complaint of a traffic hazard on Secondary 619 east of Viking.

    The caller advised there was a portion of a round bale sitting in the westbound driving lane which could be hazardous if struck by a passing vehicle.

    Police attended the scene and were removing the debris when the owner also arrived on scene to assist with the clean up.  He was warned about driving with an unsecured load.

    Later that afternoon, police were advised of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highways 26 and 36.  The driver of a Dodge pickup advised he was northbound on Highway 36 when he fell asleep and drove through the intersection, ending up in the north ditch.

    He did not sustain any injuries but was issued a Violation Ticket for Driving Carelessly.
