Storms rolling through just when signs of spring begin to emerge

Just when you think spring can’t be far away another vicious storm rolls through the area and reminds everyone Mother Nature is in charge.

On Wednesday, Feb. 13 howling winds and driving snow made roadways impassable. RCMP issued warnings all across the region closing highway from Fort McMurray to Mannville and as far south as Red Deer.

Residents north of Viking saw the storm hit mid-morning causing power outages and motor vehicle collisions which caused a portion of Highway 16 to close until crews could remove the vehicles involved.
