On Jan. 30, police received a complaint of a hit and run collision that had just occurred south of Viking at the intersection of Highways 36 and 26.

The complainant advised he was driving a semi tractor unit pulling a trailer eastbound and was attempting to turn north onto Highway 36 when a southbound pickup slid through the intersection and struck his trailer.

Both vehicles pulled over onto the shoulder of the highway but when the complainant exited his vehicle, the pickup quickly left the area, heading west on Highway 26.
