Further details regarding a number of arrests made last month in relation to suspected big game poaching in the Viking area will likely become available in the coming weeks.

Four arrests in relation to illegal hunting of big game were made in October by area Fish and Wildlife officers.

When asked about progress in the case, Brendan Cox,  Public Affairs Officer with Alberta Justice and Solicitor General’s Office said Thursday of last week that two investigations are currently ongoing and that there is the possibility additional charges may be laid.

He said further details on the two cases may be available towards the end of December or early in the new year.

Cox did confirm that although it was originally reported that the four arrested  were all non-residents, in fact, an Albertan was among the four persons apprehended.
